Trump said the US would send additional aid to Lebanon

The US President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday that the US authorities would send additional aid to Lebanon to overcome the consequences of the explosion in Beirut. Trump commented on the results of a video conference of donors organized by France.


"We had a very important conference on Lebanon. Many issues have been worked out<...>, many countries intend to help, " the White House press pool quotes the President as saying. Answering the question on the amount of, Trump replied: "This will be significant."


The US leader did not specify the numbers but recalled that the US had already sent three military transport aircraft C-17 with food and medical supplies.


As the Elysee Palace reported on Sunday, France received promises from participants of a video conference on Lebanon to provide short-term assistance to the country in the amount of €250 million.
