Tu-22M3 and MiG-31K with Kinzhal missiles were transferred to Syria to participate in the exercises of the Russian Navy

Tu-22M3 and MiG-31K long-range aircraft with Kinzhal missiles have been redeployed to the Khmeimim airbase in Syria to participate in naval exercises in the Mediterranean Sea. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.


"Long-range Tu-22M3 and MiG-31K aircraft with the Kinzhal aircraft system have been relocated to the Khmeimim airfield (SAR) to take part in the naval exercises of the Navy's inter-fleet grouping in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Crews of the Russian Air Force flew more than 1,500 km from their deployment points. In the course of the exercise, pilots of long-range aviation will have to perform tasks as intended," the Defense Ministry said.
