Turkey does not think that Sweden has fulfilled the terms of the memorandum to the end

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu believes it would be wrong to say at this point that Sweden has sufficiently fulfilled the conditions of the memorandum with the republic to join NATO. He said this on Thursday in Ankara at a press conference with North Atlantic Alliance Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

"To say that Sweden has now sufficiently fulfilled its obligations under our memorandum would be wrong. Yes, they have changed the laws [in the security sphere], but nevertheless the activities of the terrorists, the Kurdistan Workers' Party, continue there. We acknowledge and see some positive steps on the part of Sweden and Finland, which have indeed been made. But the commitments have not been fulfilled yet," Cavusoglu noted.
