Turkey expressed its condolences over the An-26 crash in the Kamchatka peninsula

Turkey's Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences on Tuesday to the relatives of the victims of a passenger plane crash in Kamchatka and to the Russian government.


The plane, flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, disappeared on Tuesday before maneuvering to land nine kilometers from the settlement of Palana. There were 28 people on board: six crew members and 22 passengers, including a child. All of them, according to preliminary data, died.


"We received with great sadness the news that a passenger plane flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana crashed today, killing 22 passengers and six crew members. We share the grief of the friendly people of the Russian Federation and express our condolences to the families of the victims and the Russian government," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
