Turkish Ministry of Defense reported on the construction of a joint center on Nagorno-Karabakh with Russia

Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said on Wednesday that the construction of the Turkish-Russian observation center for monitoring the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was currently underway.


"Construction of the joint center is underway and the [military] will take up their duties soon. Turkish and Russian officers, including generals, will serve there. They will cooperate to maintain a permanent ceasefire," the Anatolian agency quoted him as saying.


On the eve of the Turkish Defense Ministry said Ankara and Moscow had concluded an agreement on the establishment of a joint ceasefire monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh following technical talks. Official representative of the RF Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov noted that the center "will be located on the territory of Azerbaijan" and "the number of Russian and Turkish personnel in the organizational structure of the joint center will be equal".
