Ashgabat is in talks with Moscow regarding the transit of grain from Russia's southern regions to the Persian Gulf nations. This information was disclosed by the press service of the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan, which operates under the Ministry of Transport.

"We are currently engaged in discussions with the Russian Federation regarding the transit of grain crops from the southern regions of Russia to destinations in the Persian Gulf and other regions. The transportation of wheat is facilitated by our national fleet vessels, namely the 'Magtymguly,' 'Turkmenistan,' and 'Balkan.' Additionally, we are utilizing the infrastructure of the international seaport in Turkmenbashi," stated the agency.

The agency also highlighted that the port of Turkmenbashi remains a recipient of wheat shipments from Astrakhan. During the month of August, a total of over 12,000 tons of winter wheat seeds, including the Bezostaya 100 and Alekseich varieties which rank among the top five winter wheat varieties, were transported.
