Two earthquakes hit Bali

Two consecutive earthquakes of magnitude 5.6 and 5.0 struck the southern Indonesian island of Bali, the country's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) reported.


It said the quakes struck 86 kilometers south of the city of Denpasar at 07.36 and 07.37 a.m. local time (03.36 and 03.37 Moscow time, respectively).


"The earthquakes occurred in the sea at a depth of 10 to 13 kilometers," the agency said in a message posted on its Twitter account.


There was no information about possible casualties or damage. According to seismologists, there is no possibility of a tsunami.
