UAE's State Minister: Collective Responsibility Helps Prevent Escalation in the Persian Gulf

14 June 2019

Collective responsibility is necessary to prevent further escalation in the Persian Gulf. This was stated by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Anwar Gargash.

The diplomat stressed that the attack on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and the attack on Abha airport in Saudi Arabia are "alarming developments and dangerous escalation."

“It requires action from the international community to maintain regional security and stability. Wisdom and collective responsibility are needed to prevent further growth of tension”, - Gargash wrote on his Twitter.

The attack on tankers Front Altair and Kokuka Courageous occurred the day before, on June 13. On one of the ships were 11 Russians, none of them was hurt.
