UN: Israel Removed Food From Aid Trucks Meant for Gaza Hospital

20 November

Israeli forces removed food supplies from United Nations humanitarian aid trucks destined for the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, according to UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Dujarric stated that Israeli military personnel "unloaded food from UN trucks heading to the Kamal Adwan medical center" and obstructed 31 humanitarian aid missions in northern Gaza this month.

Hossam Abu Safiya, the hospital's director, highlighted the dire conditions: "The Kamal Adwan Hospital can no longer provide even a single meal for patients or food for the medical staff working around the clock." He added that the facility continuously receives children and adults suffering from malnutrition and dehydration but has critically limited food and medical supplies.

Earlier in November, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) accused Israel of "weaponizing hunger." In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated, "Israel is using hunger as a weapon by depriving people in Gaza of basic necessities, including food needed for survival."
