UN: Over $70 Million in Emergency Aid for Palestine

17 October 2023

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) urgently requires $74 million over the next three months to provide emergency assistance to the Gaza Strip's population. As per the organization's statement, local food stocks will run out in less than a week, and approximately 800,000 people in Gaza and the West Bank are in dire need of food aid.

Despite significant challenges, the WFP continues to deliver food supplies, with a focus on the Egyptian border. The organization reports that it has managed to provide food and cash assistance to around 522,000 Palestinians. The WFP is calling for guaranteed humanitarian access and has labeled the situation as "catastrophic," noting that it is an unprecedented crisis.
