The UN World Food Program (WFP) is providing emergency food aid to victims of the devastating earthquake in Syria. The related photos were published Tuesday on the organization's Twitter account.
"WFP Syria has launched emergency food assistance for people displaced as a result of the earthquakes in Aleppo. The organization is ready to expand its assistance throughout the region," the post reads.
WFP estimates that "more than 1.4 million people in northwestern Syria, as well as thousands of refugees in southeastern Turkey," depend on food aid. WFP Executive Director David Beasley earlier stated that the organization's staff was ready to help.
