Due to the coronavirus pandemic, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for a global ceasefire.

"Our world is facing a common enemy-the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. The virus affects everyone, regardless of ethnic or group, nationality or religion. It hits everyone mercilessly. Meanwhile, armed conflicts are raging all over the world. <...> The raging virus clearly demonstrates the madness of war. That is why today I call for an immediate global ceasefire in all corners of the world", the UN Secretary - General said in a statement.

According to the WHO, more than 330 thousand people have been infected with the coronavirus in the world, more than 14.5 thousand died. In Russia, 438 cases were recorded.
