UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for preventing the spread of the coronavirus in poor countries, where it can kill millions of people. According to him, the situation requires "coordinated, decisive and innovative actions from the world's leading economies", since the poorest and most vulnerable countries will suffer the most in the current situation.
"It has been proven that the virus can be contained. And it must be contained. If we allow the virus to spread like a forest fire, especially in the most vulnerable regions of the world, it will kill millions of people", Guterres said, speaking at a press conference.
In the world, according to the latest data, more than 209 thousand people have been infected with the coronavirus in 166 countries, more than 8.6 thousand died.
