UN Special Envoy for Syria temporarily unable to perform his duties

Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Syria Geir Pedersen got an eye injury and will have to limit his work.

UN spokesman Farhan Haq told RIA Novosti about rescheduling today's meeting of the UN Security Council on Syria.

Pedersen injured his eye in an accident.  The doctors advised him to temporarily limit his activity.

The meetings of the UN Security Council on the political situation in Syria are held monthly.
