Washington called on Moscow to join efforts to counter Iran, as well as to influence Syrian President Bashar Assad, so that he would bring the Iranian military out of the Arab republic. US Special Representative for Syria, James Jeffrey announced it.
According to him, Russia "has mutual interests in a safe and stable Syria".
“If Russia wants to achieve this result, it should join efforts to counter the destabilizing actions of Iran and its harmful influence in Syria.
