Uzbekistan and Russia are constantly strengthening mutually beneficial relations and Tashkent is determined to seek new growth drivers, Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov told reporters on Monday before opening talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"The Russian Federation is Uzbekistan's natural and close partner. Last September [at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand] marked a fundamentally new stage in the history of our relations. The leaders of the two states signed a declaration on a comprehensive strategic partnership. We are constantly strengthening mutually beneficial relations in all important directions. We firmly intend to maintain and enhance this momentum, aiming to find new growth drivers and implement existing reserves," the head of the ministry said.
