The Kremlin is concerned about the situation in Kyrgyzstan and expects it to be resolved soon within the framework of the constitutional field, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
"We are certainly concerned about it and hope that all political forces in Kyrgyzstan will find the strength to stay in the constitutional field and find a solution to the situation as soon as possible," the Kremlin representative said.
The Kremlin considers the settlement of the situation in Kyrgyzstan a matter of internal political dialogue of the country's citizens, Peskov said.
In response to the question whether Moscow intends to support the former head of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, the Kremlin representative recalled that the president is Sooronbay Jeenbekov. "And all the rest is a matter of internal dialogue of the Kyrgyz people, it is they who must resolve this situation," he added.
Peskov also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday did not speak on the phone with Jeenbekov.
"No, it wasn't today," he said, answering the question whether the Russian leader had a conversation with the leadership of Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday, where a political crisis arose after the parliamentary elections.
