Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Jordanian Ambassador to Moscow Khaled Shawabke engaged in discussions regarding the escalating violence in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and the associated threats. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted this in a recent statement.
"The interlocutors discussed in detail the current situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone with a focus on the risks and threats in connection with the continued escalation of violence, threatening the security and stability of the Middle East region as a whole," the ministry noted.
Both sides emphasized the importance of establishing and providing comprehensive humanitarian aid to the affected and needy Palestinians. This discussion took place within the context of preparations for the international conference on urgent assistance to the Gaza Strip, scheduled for June 11 in Jordan.
