The situation on the Syrian-Turkish border remains complicated, but if the concerns of the parties are taken into account, the situation can be resolved. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said this on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Friday.

"The situation on the border [of Syria and Turkey] is of course difficult," he said, answering a related question. - "But I think if we go the way of considering the concerns of the parties, if we go the way of considering such concerns on the basis of a firm commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, I think all this can be resolved, especially since not only two countries will benefit from it, the whole situation in the region in terms of its stability will benefit from it."

The deputy minister stressed that Russia is closely following the development of the situation around Syria as a whole, including on the Syrian-Turkish border. "We appreciate our interaction within the framework of the Astana format, this is a format in which Russia, Turkey, and Iran take part, [the format] which has actually done a lot to promote a settlement in Syria. If we remember, after all, exactly the beginning of the work of the Constitutional Committee, the continuation of its work, the fact that there are contacts between the parties in general, all this was done thanks to the Astana format and the interaction between Turkey, Iran and Russia," Vershinin added.
