Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad on the upcoming Muslim holiday-the Night of the ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). This is reported by the Kremlin's press service.

This year, the Night the ascension of the Prophet Muhammad, or the night of Miraj, which is considered a special date in the Muslim calendar, is on March 21.
