"Russian President Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Merkel. Putin briefed the Federal Chancellor on the results of the talks with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held in Sochi on October 22, emphasizing that the agreements they had reached take into account the interests of all parties and facilitate the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria," the message reads.
The talks between presidents of Russia and Turkey lasted about six hours. Following the discussion, the parties said a Memorandum, which, according to Vladimir Putin, "very important, if not fateful".
The document, among other things, involves joint patrols by Syrian soldiers and Russian military police border territory to a depth of ten kilometers to the West and East of the area of operation "Source of peace", except for the city of Qamishli.
Also, Russian and Turkish forces will facilitate the withdrawal of Kurdish forces units and their weapons to 30 kilometers from the border – this operation has already begun.
