Today, the Summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is taking place in St. Petersburg. The heads of the Union member states will take part in the event.
According to the press service of the Kremlin, the participants of the Summit will discuss current issues of the Eurasian Economic Union, the tasks for further deepening of cooperation, improving the functioning of the single market.
The meeting will also summarize the results of the work of the Eurasian Economic Commission for the four-year period and agree on the candidacies of the new Chairman and members of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
In 2020, the chairmanship of the EAEU will pass from Armenia to Belarus.
The EAEU includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
