Bilateral relations between Russia and Egypt continue to develop very successfully, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the Russia – Africa Summit. The Egyptian leader, in turn, emphasized that Cairo views Moscow as a reliable partner in Africa, including in the field of energy development, and invited Vladimir Putin to the ceremony of the beginning of the construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, which will be built with the participation of Russia.
The Russia – Africa Summit is held today in Sochi under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of Russia and Egypt. The event is attended by the leaders of 43 African states. A number of bilateral meetings between Vladimir Putin and the heads of African states are planned on the sidelines of the summit.
