Vladimir Putin spoke about military-technical cooperation with Africa

Russia has signed agreements on military-technical cooperation with dozens of African countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Russia – Africa Summit.


"Russia has signed agreements on military-technical cooperation with more than 30 countries that we supply a wide range of weapons and equipment. Some of these supplies are at no cost, " he said, in particular.


In addition, according to Putin, African states actively participate in military-technical forums and exercises conducted by Russia, and African students are trained in universities of the Ministry of Defense.


As the President stressed, cooperation between Russia and Africa in the military-technical sphere is strategic and long-term, and its development is one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy.


In addition, Vladimir Putin spoke in favor of intensifying the joint fight against terrorism in the region and proposed to make political consultations between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and African countries annual.


The Russia-Africa summit and economic forum takes place in Sochi on October 23-24.
