Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, held a bilateral meeting with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis), in Tehran. The meeting was reported on the State Duma's official website.
"During the meeting, they discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation," the report stated.
Volodin and Ghalibaf also addressed preparations for an upcoming conference of parliamentary speakers focused on countering terrorism and enhancing regional cooperation, as well as plans for the next session of the Russian-Iranian interparliamentary commission.
Volodin arrived in Tehran on July 30 on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the inauguration of Masoud Pezeshkian as President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
