Washington reports about more than 50 injured employees of the US secret service during the protests

More than 50 employees of the US secret service were injured in Washington as a result of clashes with demonstrators protesting over the death of African-American George Floyd after he was detained by police in Minneapolis (Minnesota).

This, according to TASS, was reported to Fox News by a senior source in the security structures of the American capital.

In addition to the US secret service, Federal marshals, drug enforcement administration officials, and the national guard were deployed to help police and department of homeland security officials quell protests on the streets of Washington.

The reason for large-scale protests in the United States was a video of the detention of George Floyd, suspected of using counterfeit banknotes, on May 25 in Minneapolis, published last week on the Internet.

White police officers handcuffed the African-American man and dragged him to the road. One of them put his knee on the detainee's neck, ignoring Floyd's screams that he could not breathe, and soon the African-American died in a hospital in the city.

On May 26, all four law enforcement officers were dismissed, and one of them was taken into custody on charges of manslaughter.

Protests that broke out early last week in Minneapolis spread to several dozen major American cities and turned violent.

Federal and local authorities are urgently trying to subdue the demonstrators, addressing them in all possible ways, imposing a curfew and enlisting the help of the US National guard. According to the Associated Press, more than 4,100 people have been detained during the protests over the past three days.
