Armenia and Azerbaijan plan to hold negotiations to clarify the border between the two countries with the mediation of Russia by the end of the year. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan in the Armenian Parliament on Wednesday.
"An interdepartmental group is currently working across the border in the Syunik Region and legal documents are being prepared. Until the end of the year, negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held with the mediation of Russian colleagues to resolve border demarcation issues," he said.
After Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint ceasefire statement in Nagorno-Karabakh on November 9, seven adjacent districts of Nagorno-Karabakh passed over to Azerbaijan, resulting in the two countries forming a new border along Armenia's Syunik region.
