Russia is working on the possibility of delivering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a briefing on Thursday.
‘In Kabul and other major cities there is resentment against the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) policy amid rising prices of essential goods, food and fuel. In this regard, we are calling on the international community to take effective measures to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. For our part, we are working on the possibility of delivering Russian humanitarian aid to Kabul’, she said.
‘We are especially concerned about growing socio-economic tensions in Afghanistan due to the suspension of financial, material and technical assistance from traditional Western donors. There is still uncertainty about the work resumption of state establishments and banks’, the diplomat added.
