Zakharova says Russia will continue humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

25 November 2021

Russia's humanitarian aid to Afghanistan will be continued after the delivery of the first batch to this country, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.

"On November 18, as you know, a special flight of our country's Defense Ministry delivered the first batch of Russian humanitarian cargo to Kabul. It was food and essential goods. It weighs 36 tonnes. Russia's humanitarian aid to the Afghan population will continue," said Zakharova.

According to the diplomat, special attention is currently paid to the normalization of the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. "The interim government has guaranteed unimpeded access of humanitarian workers, including women, to the population in need," she added.
