The recognition by the US President Donald Trump of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights may be the forerunner of the states-promoted “deal of the century” on the Middle East settlement. Such an opinion on the program “60 minutes” on the TV channel “Russia-1”, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova expressed.
According to her, the European Union “is in some shock at the fact that their NATO partners are working with international law and directly in the region”.
“We haven’t yet begun to discuss the main surprise - the very “deal of the century” that Washington promises us. Perhaps this is the forerunner of the very surprise that is promised to us all”, the diplomat noted in particular.
Earlier, Washington announced its intention to publish the so-called “deal of the century” after the parliamentary elections in Israel, which are scheduled for April 9th.
