Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal for "green corridors" for the trade without sanctions will help get rid of trade wars, Tehran welcomes it, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said RIA Novosti.

Putin, speaking at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, said that the Russian proposal to introduce "green corridors" for the trade without wars and sanctions, including for food, is now particularly relevant.

"We believe that the proposal for "green corridors" is very important in the current conditions because the situation in the world is now dangerous and very difficult: a small virus could bring all the world powers to their knees, and if States do not cooperate, they will not be able to successfully get out of this trouble," Zarif said.

According to him, the US is currently waging economic wars against Russia, Iran and China, exerting maximum possible pressure. Zarif noted that the United States "implements dangerous economic plans against even its friends and allies, for example, the resistance of the United States to the Nord Stream project, which indicates that the United States in its approaches does not distinguish between the basic needs of its allies and friends and the fact that they expose everyone to such dangers."

"Therefore, in such circumstances, Putin's proposal for "green corridors" is very good and in fact is equivalent to getting rid of trade wars, and even wars related to medicines and food, in conditions when the coronavirus is a serious threat to the world," the Minister stressed.
