President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of fostering the concept of mutual understanding and unity among Slavic and Turkic peoples. He stated that the effectiveness of integration processes and the stability in Eurasia greatly depend on this unity. These remarks were made in his greeting to the participants of the III International Altaic Forum, titled "Unity of Slavic and Turkic Peoples in History and Modernity." The message from the head of state was delivered by Kyrgyzstan's Secretary of State, Suyunbek Kasmambetov.
"Centuries of experience in the interaction between Slavic and Turkic peoples, shaped by the unique geographical landscapes they coexisted within, their corresponding economic modes of living, and distinctive social structures, have given rise to shared values within the framework of Eurasian civilization. These values have remained resilient through the ages, unaffected by political circumstances. It is now imperative to further cultivate the concept of mutual understanding, rooted in the historically evolved essence of these expansive worlds: the Turkic and Slavic," remarked Zhaparov.
The president of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that the effectiveness of long-standing integration processes relies on "upholding the unity of peoples who have established a shared civilizational realm and a collective history enriched by traditions of constructive dialogue spanning millennia." He suggested that Slavic-Turkic cooperation stands as a robust resource for economic integration, one that should be harnessed for the socio-economic progress of both Russia and Central Asian nations.
Zhaparov underscored that numerous experts regard Slavic-Turkic cooperation as "the cornerstone of political stability and economic progress in the Central Asian region." He proposed that "the post-Soviet space, which serves as a shared historical foundation uniting our nations, can serve as the underpinning for establishing a comprehensive security framework in Eurasia and Central Asia."
Additionally, he emphasized that amid globalization, robust integration blocs will facilitate the development of strategies to address the challenges that loom over Eurasia and Central Asia.
