At least 143 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing on Sunday. The Israel Government Coordination Office for the Palestinian Territories made this announcement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), noting that this marks the highest daily total since the commencement of aid deliveries to the enclave after the escalation of the Middle East conflict.
"Today marked the inspection and dispatch of the largest convoy of aid trucks to the Gaza Strip since the conflict began on October 7th," the statement read. It was noted that 143 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
Among these, 72 trucks transported food supplies (totaling 1.62 thousand tons), 11 trucks carried medical equipment (137 tons), 22 trucks delivered water (444 tons), 15 trucks transported essential items for setting up temporary accommodation centers (220 tons), and 23 trucks contained mixed cargo (351 tons).
The delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip commenced on October 21, two weeks after the escalation of the Middle East conflict began. Earlier, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Jonathan Conricus, previously stated that over 850 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip thus far.
