An earthquake with magnitude 5.6 was registered on Friday off the coast of the Indonesian Province of Papua, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reports.
According to this information the epicenter was located 383 km to the east from Jayapura town (population is around 134 thousand people), the administrative center of Papua province. The origin place was located at a depth of 79 km.
There was no information about tsunami threats or possible destructions.
