Afghanistan's national airline to resume flights to India, China and Kuwait

10 June 2022

Afghanistan's national airline Ariana Afghan Airlines plans to resume regular flights to India, China and Kuwait in the near future. This was reported Friday by The Times of India.

"Our flights to India and also to China and Kuwait will start soon. There are many Afghan nationals in India and our trade interests are linked to this country," the newspaper quoted Rahmatullah Agha, head of the airline, as saying.

Currently, Ariana Afghan Airlines performs two regular flights a week to Doha, the capital of Qatar, and also serves domestic airlines.

Afghanistan's air links with the outside world were interrupted at the end of August 2021 after the occupation of Kabul by the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) and the coming to power of the Taliban.
