During a working visit to Damascus, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu conveyed a message from Vladimir Putin to Syrian President Bashar Assad. This is stated in the message of the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is noted that during the conversation Shoigu and Assad discussed the fight against terrorism in Syria and the post-conflict settlement in the country, as well as ensuring security in the Middle East as a whole. «In Syria, with the support of Russia, undoubtedly achieved significant success in the fight against international terrorism, to stop its arbitrariness and distribution.
