Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held online consultation with Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman Badr Al-Busaidi.
In the course of a focused effort to "compare notes" on key issues of Russia-Oman regular political dialogue, Moscow and Muscat reiterated mutual commitment to a consistent build-up of the efforts seeking to further expand and consolidate multifaceted bilateral ties.
"At the same time, considerable attention was paid to topical regional issues. The parties stated Russia’s and Oman’s close or overlapping approaches in favor of a lasting and long-term political resolution of the persisting crises and conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, promoting the principles of neighborliness, mutual respect and joint response to new challenges and threats in this part of the world. In a trust-based manner, the officials exchanged views on developments in Syria, Libya, Yemen, the Gulf countries and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement," the message reads.
