In Central Asia, the threat of terrorist attacks has increased significantly. This was announced by Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Alymbek Sultanov at the anti-terrorism forum of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in Bishkek.
The main threats to the security of the region, he said, emanate from the northern provinces of Afghanistan, where in recent months there has been an increase in terrorist groups, and from militants returning from Syria to countries of origin.
For the successful fight against terrorism, as Sultanov stressed, it is necessary “to consolidate the efforts of the competent authorities of all the CSTO countries, exchange experience and information between them”.
