The collective forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are practicing training issues and joint tactical tasks during the next stage of exercises in Kazakhstan, the joint press center of the CSTO exercises told reporters on Tuesday.
The report noted that the command-staff exercise with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (RRF) "Interaction-2022" is aimed at practicing tasks for the use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in the Central Asian region.
"In the course of practical actions, training issues and joint tactical tasks are practiced: the defeat of the enemy with the use of reconnaissance and reconnaissance-fire contour; conducting special measures to eliminate an illegal armed formation in a populated area; actions of anti-drug units of the internal affairs of the SOF forces to suppress the drug supply channel; performance of measures to eliminate the effects of chemical, biological contamination and search and rescue operations," the report reads.
In addition, as noted in the message, during the exercise the study of the use of coalition air grouping and air defense, as well as the use of joint formation of the radiation, chemical and biological (CBRN) defense and medical support of the CSTO is carried out.
"During the special exercise with the forces and means of intelligence "Search-2022" the issues of intelligence planning in conditions of aggravation of the military and political situation in the Central Asian region of the CSTO collective security, as well as the organization and conduct of various types of intelligence in the interests of application of the CSTO RRF in localization of the border armed conflict," the message reads.
The press center also noted that the ongoing special exercise "Echelon-2022" is aimed at comprehensive training in the organization of logistics (logistical support), management of units of logistical support of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, replenishment and restoration of weapons, military and special equipment of the group of the Collective Security Treaty Organization during a joint operation.
About the exercises
The "Interaction-2022" command-staff exercise with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, the special exercise "Search-2022" with reconnaissance forces and "Echelon-2022" with units of logistical support of troops (collective forces) of the CSTO are conducted from September 26 to October 13 on the territory of Kazakhstan. The active phase of the exercise takes place at the Matybulak training range and will continue until October 7. The total number of exercise participants is more than 6,500 and more than 850 units of military and special equipment are involved, including aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Russian contingent is based on units of the Central Military District (CMD).
