The death toll has risen to 19 following an Israeli army airstrike on a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp located in the central Gaza Strip.
According to Al Jazeera, rescuers have recovered the bodies of 19 individuals from beneath the rubble at the strike site. However, the exact number of casualties is yet to be determined. The TV channel further reports numerous injuries resulting from the strike.
The situation in the Middle East has sharply deteriorated following an incursion by fighters from the Palestinian movement Hamas into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023. In response, Israel imposed a complete blockade on Gaza and launched airstrikes targeting the Strip, as well as parts of Lebanon and Syria. Subsequently, a ground operation was initiated in the enclave. Clashes have also erupted in the West Bank.
