The Egyptian authorities temporarily canceled the fines for Russian tourists for overstaying a visa-free period in Sharm el-Sheikh. This was announced by the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova in her Telegram channel.
"Just now the Minister of Tourism of Egypt has officially confirmed to me the temporary cancellation of fines for our tourists for overstaying the period of visa-free stay in Sharm el-Sheikh," said Doguzova.
The head of the department thanked her Egyptian colleague for the prompt support. The head of Rostourism emphasized that in view of the current circumstances with the cancellation of flights she has received many complaints from tourists about the penalties for overstaying, and therefore she asked the Egyptian side for assistance.
In parallel, Rostourism helps tour operators to resolve the issue with the return of all Russian tourists home. The department will inform the nearest special flights additionally, added Doguzova.
