Jordanian Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Minister Ayman Hussein Abdallah al-Safadi invited Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to visit the kingdom at a convenient time to continue dialogue on the topics of bilateral relations and current regional issues.
"I took this opportunity to extend an invitation to Mr. Lavrov to visit Amman at a convenient time so that we can continue our joint search for solutions to existing problems," he said on Wednesday at a joint press conference following talks with Lavrov.
He said Jordan "invariably sees Russia as a key player capable of playing a leading role in facilitating the resolution of crisis situations." "We have agreed to continue our interaction with our Russian partners and other representatives of the international community in the interests of bringing the resolution of the existing crisis situations as soon as possible," the Jordanian Foreign Minister added.
