The official visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Azerbaijan ended today. According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Minister was received by President Ilham Aliyev and held talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
During the meetings, the sides discussed topical issues of Russian-Azerbaijani relations in the political, economic and humanitarian fields, as well as cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the CIS, the UN, the OSCE, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Council of Europe, BSEC and other international platforms.
In addition, Lavrov and Mammadyarov signed a plan of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020.
"The talks confirmed the closeness of the approaches of Russia and Azerbaijan on most of the aspects of the global and regional agenda," the message reads.
