Russian and Somali Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Hassan Ali Khair held telephone talks.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the main topic of discussion was cooperation between the two countries, including the fight against the coronavirus.
"During the conversation, the state and prospects of Russian - Somali cooperation in various fields were discussed. Special attention was paid to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and the importance of intensifying the efforts of the entire international community, including through the IMF and the World Bank, to counter the spread of this infection and neutralize its negative consequences, taking into account the needs of the countries of the African continent," the message reads.
According to the WHO, more than 20 thousand cases of the coronavirus infection have been detected in African countries. More than a thousand patients died.
