Today, on December 23, Russian and Syrian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Walid Muallem will hold talks in Moscow. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the diplomats intend to discuss the settlement in the Arab Republic, in particular, through the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, and the development of trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Damascus.
Muallem will also take part in the meeting of the Permanent Russian-Syrian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation as a co-chair.
"It is planned to exchange views on a wide range of topical international and regional problems, first of all, to discuss the current situation in Syria and around it, including the work of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, the theme of post-conflict reconstruction of the country and the promotion of the return of Syrian refugees," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
