Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko on Thursday discussed with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih El-Nagari the situation on global food and energy markets, as well as problems of European security, the Russian MFA said in a statement.
"During the discussion of the situation on global food and energy markets, the Russian side noted that the current crisis situation is caused primarily by the financial and economic policy of the West led by the US and the EU, as well as their restrictive measures against third countries, including Russia," the statement reads.
The ministry noted that the sides exchanged opinions on European security. They also touched upon other topical aspects of the international agenda.
The meeting was held at the request of the Egyptian diplomat.
