The Hamas movement in Palestine is urging the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to intervene and facilitate the opening of the Rafah crossing on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. Additionally, they are calling for the establishment of humanitarian corridors to ensure the delivery of much-needed aid to the population in the enclave. This appeal was communicated through a statement released on their Telegram channel.
"We urgently call on the Arab League and the OIC to promptly open the Rafah checkpoint and establish humanitarian corridors, aligning with the resolutions of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit (convened on November 11, 2023, in Saudi Arabia - TASS). Each passing hour exacts a devastating toll on the lives of numerous innocent children and civilians."
"We call upon the UN, the Arab League, and the OIC to unequivocally denounce the actions of the Zionist entity [Israel] and hold it accountable on political, legal, and material fronts for the atrocities, warfare, and devastation inflicted upon the Gaza Strip," emphasized Hamas. The movement underscores the urgency for the Arab League and the OIC to collaborate with the UN in establishing a specialized court to ensure that those responsible for the loss of approximately 13,000 Palestinian lives are brought to justice.
