During a telephone conversation with the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Government of National Accord of Libya Fayez al-Sarraj expressed his desire to learn Chechnya's experience in the fight against terrorism and conflict resolution and visit the Republic, the head of the Russian contact group on intra-Libyan settlement, assistant to the head of Chechnya Lev Dengov told RIA Novosti.
"The conversation was initiated by the Libyan side considering the authority and influence of Ramzan Akhmatovich in the international arena, in particular, in the Arab Muslim states. During the conversation, the parties discussed the possibility of transferring experience in conflict resolution and combating terrorism. Mr. Sarraj expressed his desire to cooperate with Russia and directly with the Chechen Republic on countering ISIS (outlawed in Russia)," the Agency quoted Dengov as saying.
After the overthrow and death of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has dual power: the people's elected Parliament controls the eastern part of the country, while the West with the capital in Tripoli is ruled by Fayez al-Sarraj, who leads the Government of National Accord formed with the support of the United Nations and the European Union.
