Imams from LNR will improve their qualifications in Russian regions

Imams of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Lugansk People's Republic (part of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia) will take advanced training courses in Muslim education centers in Tatarstan and Chuvashia, Eldar Gambarov, Mufti of the LNR and imam of the Lugansk Cathedral Mosque, told TASS on Tuesday.


"On Friday I will go to meet the LNR imams who will go to Tatarstan to improve their qualifications. Together with them, I will participate in this program", - said the interlocutor of the agency. - "Next Thursday, June 30, I'll be meeting with our group, who will improve their skills in Chuvashia".


It is planned that nine imams from the LNR will take advanced training courses in the Volga Region, the mufti added.


He specified that he is currently in Yekaterinburg at the invitation of Mufti Abdul-Quddus-khazrat Asharin. There were meetings with the leadership of the city, representatives of the diasporas, and the LNR delegation also visited military units. A visit to the place where the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II was shot is planned. In addition, on Wednesday, the head of the Muslims of the LNR will take part in a meeting with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev.


Next week, the mufti will visit Kemerovo and take part in the opening of a cathedral mosque in Chuvashia, he added.


As previously reported, the Muslims of the LNR decided to canonically join the  Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia. At the invitation of the Muslims of the Lugansk People's Republic, a delegation of the Assembly led by Mufti Albir-khazrat Krganov visited the republic in early May and took part in a meeting of the LNR Imam Council. The parties discussed the construction, reconstruction, and repair of mosques located in the LNR. There are about 40,000 Muslims in the LNR, about 300 people come to the mosque in the capital during festive prayers, and about 50-60 people come to Friday prayers.
