“If someday (after removal) they want the arms embargo against Iran to be restored again under any pretext, any mechanism, we will respond as I wrote in the last paragraph of my letter to the leaders of the group 4+1 countries. They are well aware of the answer, ”said, in particular, the Iranian leader on state television during a government meeting.
The US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, according to Rouhani, quoted by RIA Novosti, was a “stupid mistake”, which was understood in Washington when there was not much time left before the weapons embargo being lifted.
“The Americans woke up from their serene dream only 2 months ago, they realized what a big mistake they made when they left the nuclear deal. They have no way forward, no way back, ”the Iranian president added, stressing that“ there is no more nuclear deal for America. ”
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said RIA Novosti that the current special regime for the supply of arms and military equipment to Iran after a five-year period should expire and there can be no deviation from this decision.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, meanwhile, noted that Washington would do everything to extend the arms embargo against Iran and prevent Tehran from purchasing weapons from Russia or China.
